The first "Rekam Shadow" series was created in September 2020. The initial work was created in response to the offer of the basic elements of art education, namely "Lines", which was proposed by the art collective "Jalan Pulang" whose members were Handiwirman Saputra, M, Irfan, P. Sancoko , Yuli Prayitno. The offer is how to interpret lines with the current mindset of daily work as an artist. From the offer submitted by "Lines" then I refer to the spatial awareness to utilize Lines in the work that will be created. For me, who is used to being acquainted with the context of space, I use lines as a tool to record moments of time, place and space. In this work I try to record the passage of time in a place using tools (made or found). The working process is that I prepare the canvas then I arrange the tools on it, then I start drawing lines between the shadows that fall on the tools. My recording process starts from 08.00 and continues until 17.00. In the recording process, I include data starting from the pause data if the Sun is covered by clouds and when the data is finished recording, I always include location data in the form of coordinates relating to the place where the work was created. The emphasis in the "Rekam Bayang" series of works is how to utilize the basic elements of fine art, namely lines, for the process of documenting time and space in a specific and artistic way. In this shadow recording work, I made a fictitious tool in the form of a sculpture for the work process.
