This silk painting is in a site specific installation, named " TOSS AND TURN " which is a reconstruction of the room in her childhood house, this work uncovers the deepest corner of Thuy Anh’s psyche — one that is preoccupied with personal contemplation on companionship and (re)birth.

Using the technique of drawing on silk, pasting on Dó paper made from roots, layering multiple times, washing, and repeating, Thuy Anh draws as a dialogue with her pain—a maze clinging to her memories, imagination, and obsessions. But hidden behind each layer of color that she covers is a fragile boundary between reality and fantasy. She draws real scenes of the room where she lives, a safe space for her body and soul, for an indefinite appointment. Is this the actual world or a fragile virtual realm where she has silent interactions with strangers, something she longs for but never knows when she will get?
