My usual process involves
scavenging the internet for images I find familiar or resonate with. Taking
inspiration from Hindu imagery, nature and digital culture, I find connections
between these images/pixels/ideas and, through the process of
collaging,
a story unfolds.
For this piece, I looked back at
my own work as a point of departure. I dissected past works by extracting their
essences, symbols and stories, gradually manifesting a divine personification
of my past work. The output draws parallels to the iconic image of Nataraja
(the depiction of the Shiva as the divine cosmic dancer), encompassing
creation, destruction and all things in between.
I view this piece as a self-portrait of my art —the persona behind the
practice.
