Tidak Ada Judul by Azizan Paiman: Malaysia Art Ecosystem Festival (MAEF) by National Art Gallery of Malaysia
Past exhibition
Overview
'Tidak Ada Judul' exhibits Paiman’s (as he prefers to be known) past and present acts— a collection of his works brimming with caricature, humour, whimsy and socio-political commentary in his signature palette of bright colours and pastels.
The mixed-medium exhibition showcases the various entry-points and interventions explored by the artist over his 30-year practice. The title 'Tidak Ada Judul' (in English, 'Untitled'), prods the audience to take a closer look at the dramaturgy of Paiman’s oeuvre, which is inextricably linked to a satirical inspection of Malaysia’s history. The artist treads the fine line of expressing the absurdity of it all without losing sight of our humanity.
Welcome to the circus.
