“This work is part of a series of three cast sculptures that looks at the intersection between sexuality and faith. My basic premise of this series is that in the process of mediating, defining, and controlling sexuality and its expressions, organized faiths have ironically become fixated with sexuality. This work in particular observes the act of prayer, visualised through the cupped hands, as what is offered, on a plate, by organised faiths in order to curb, limit, and define one’s sexuality.”
