Ariana Chaivaranon Thailand, b. 1996

Ariana Chaivaranon is an artist and curator currently based at 'in-tangible institute,' Chiang Mai. For the past decade, Chaivaranon has cultivated transformative connections between the public and globally renowned art collections, including the U.S National Gallery of Art, the Beijing Palace Museum, UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, The Nelson Atkins Musuem of Art, Harvard Art Museums, and the Frick Collection. Chaivaranon's scholarship on Thai contemporary art appears in publications including Art & Market, MoMA (NY) Post, NUS (Singapore) Southeast of Now, and UNSW (Sydney) Di'van Journal. 

Chaivaranon's practice (painting, printmaking, sculpture), explores "noise" as a visual and physical texture that penetrates the borders between forms, media, and identities. By picturing 'noise', Chaivaranon problematizes the logic of binaries and boundaries and betrays the limits of representation. Chaivaranon's artwork has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and at venues including H&R Block Artspace (Kansas City), Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana (Venice), and Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts (Cambridge). Chaivaranon holds a B.A. from Harvard University in Art, Film, and Visual Studies and Art History, as well as an M.A. in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, Schwarzman College.
